I was thinking of Linux desktop that is targeted to the Filipino people. Like it has a Filipino feel and culture in it. Like the desktop is designed how Filipino use the computer and internet. Like the web browser has default links for:
For Weather updates : http://www.pagasa.dost.gov.ph/ For Health: http://health.yahoo.net/ For Environment: denr.gov.ph For Technology: http://www.dost.gov.ph/ For Radio: http://www.amfmph.com/ For TV: pinoy-ako.info For News: philstar.com.ph For Forum: pinoyexchange.com For Social networking: Facebook, Friendster For blogging website: blogspot.com For fruit and vegetable farming website: Kailangan to para laging healthy ang pagkain ng mga Pilipino For cooking website: Kailangan to kasi maraming Pilipino hindi marunong magluto at malnourish Also a default chat app named gyachi for yahoo chat and skype because Filipinos like to video chat their loved ones abroad. It's like a distro that is sharing and updating information to all Filipinos. We can share all websites that are targeted and useful to Filipinos and configure in the browser as default bookmarks On Tue, Dec 4, 2012 at 12:26 PM, Paolo Alexis Falcone <[email protected]>wrote: > You'd actually want the bloat of existing distributions and applications > as what you call bloat is also making the desktop more functional and ready > for more random hardware.
