Many thanks for the input Jorge,

Now it's clear to methat SIP proxy (trunk) is a paid service from
providers..right?

You said I can "peer" two elastix boxes or just one elastix box on one
office, does it mean I do not have to avail of the SIP trunk/proxy and/or
voip provider? I can do this using only our existing internet connection?
Would appreciate it if you can point me to any documentation on this that I
can use?

"The FXO Card, its in order for your elastix box to connect to PSTN / local
telco." ---- The working FXO port is where I will connect the cable from
PLDT outlet..right? Then the Elastix box NIC is to the switch..right?
Pardon me from not being able to picture the actual connections.. new in
this setup..hehhe..

Again many thanks..really appreciate it..

Humbly,

chris

Hi Chris,

If you only need to make traffic (calls) between your offices you can peer
two elastix boxes, or host just 1 elastix box on either office then from it
those polycom phones may connect to your elastix box (as extensions)
regardless of the location.

The FXO Card, its in order for your elastix box to connect to PSTN / local
telco.

You may also need a SIP trunk if you need to make international calls
cheaper by not using the local telco/PSTN e.g. US or UK phones (depending on
the coverage of the voip provider).

Jorge

Subject: [plug] Elastix IPPBX configuration

Hi everyone,

Anyone here have experience in implementing IP PBX using Elastix?

We have the following equipment and facilities:
-Internet connection (5mbps)
-Desktop computer core2 duo, 2GB memory, 500gb HDD -1x TDM / FXO card 4 port
with 1 port working (whatever it is, suggested to
have)
-Built in NIC plus 1x Dlink NIC
-2pcs of Polycom SoundPoint IP 331 IP phone

Notes:
>From online documentations and forums I should have the following:
-VoIP gateway service provider
-SIP Proxy of some sort
-Or other needed service provider.

Situation:
The intention really is to implement a company-wide VoIP implementation.
But initially IPPBX is desired first connecting the Cebu office and the one
in HK.

Anyone have the idea on how to go about IP PBX using only the above
equipment and facilities?

Any lead or definite reading material or suggestions will be appreciated.

Humbly,

Chris
