As an interim fix for the broken ctrl key on the Toshiba Tecra I want to create .Xmodmap that swaps the function to the CapsLock key, and puts that function on the permanently depressed Ctrl key. After all, who uses CapsLock anyway?
My Slackware boxes have .Xmodmap defined to do this so I have the content of the file. On these hosts it is called within ~/.xinitrc, but the Xubuntu box appears not to have that file (yet both run Xfce; go figure.) Since the Toshiba boots into runlevel 5 with no login required, where should I place a call to .Xmodmap so the key functions are swapped each time the system is booted? Rich -- Richard B.
