I'm looking for an alternative to OpenOffice.org for slide shows,
and thinking about web-like alternatives that I can run through
with firefox. The major problem now is OOo Impress's poor support
for embedded movies and animation - you have to add many extra
java packages, and it is slow. Portability is also an issue.

My slide shows are graphics heavy and text light - I am not
interested in fancy moving arrows and text and frame-to-frame
dissolves. I build a lot of my slides with C programs and libgd.
I can use the open source "swftools" to turn PNG frames into
Flash movies.

Content creation is not much of an issue, but displaying it the
way I want it is a big issue. I want to use a USB wireless
presenter style remote, which generates the keyclicks and
mouseclicks that OOo Impress and Powerpoint and others can be
driven with. I don't want to be tied down to a mouse (even a
wireless one) if I can avoid it.

Suggestions?

Keith
