I feel like I'm being dense, so I hope someone can help.

A while back I switched from using del.icio.us to xmarks (formerly
foxmarks) for bookmark syncronization. One thing I really like about
del.icio.us is the tag-based search, which I find more convenient and
easier to manage than dividing bookmarks into folders. I got into the
habit of tagging all my bookmarks, usually with multiple tags. I use
generic tags like "gtk," "sysadmin," "console," or "tutorial" as broad
limiters, and use more specific tags to drill down to what I'm looking
for. I do this for non-technical stuff also, like if I'm planning a
trip to Powell's I can search for "books" + "shopping" for a list of my
bookmarks (reviews and whatnot) about books I might want to buy. If I
decide I can't afford all those books, I can pick some to queue at the
library, and change the "shopping" tag to "library."

Anyway, I'm having trouble replicating that without del.icio.us because
I can't figure out how to limit Firefox's bookmark search to just the
tag field. Any search returns a bookmark that has the particular term
anywhere in any field (title, description, location, etc.). Xmarks
doesn't seem to be able to do this either. Is this really not possible,
or am I just missing something?

I did find some add-ons that might be helpful, like this one:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/998#reviews

If FF needs an add-on to enable this kind of searching, does anyone have
any recommendations?
