That is true, but if so, why won't Kooka, Scanner Utility, or XSane Image Scanner see it? I haven't played with them for a few months since the scanner on my multifunction printer works on my XP machine, and that was sufficient for most of what I do. However, the printer's scanner bed is not as long as the Epson, and I don't have the same tools to prescan and crop before scanning that are provided by XSane. > Regardless, if you have a current version of Xsane installed your scanner > should work regardless of distribution or version. > xsane -v xsane-0.995 (c) 1998-2007 Oliver Rauch E-mail: [email protected] package xsane-0.995 compiled with GTK-2.12.2 with color management function with GIMP support, compiled with GIMP-2.4.2 XSane output formats: jpeg, pdf(compr.), png, pnm, ps(compr.), tiff, txt That's the version provided on Ubuntu Hardy. I assume it's at least the same, if not a newer version than the one on SuSE 10. I should have some time to play with it this coming week. I'll fiddle some more. -- Regards, Dick Steffens www.dicksteffens.com _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
