I have seen other references to /etc/rc.local.  For a while I thought
that this file did not exist on my system-wrong.  I was confused by
the folders rc#.d and rcS.d.  I was sent to the debian policy manual
for information.  But that is not written in English that I am
familiar with.

Putting the command in  /etc/rc.local  seems straight-forward.
