Mike Connor's post got me thinking. His post was really about back-end and server stuff, while mine is about desktop, which is why I'm starting a new thread.
If I ever decided to pursue more $$ and start hiring minions to do the real work while I sat at the top, in the center of my web, pulling strings and fretting about payroll, I'd be sorely tempted to run a Linux-only shop. Has anyone done the experiment (lately) of asking a bunch of experienced Windows users to be productive in a work environment using Linux? How do all the various disciplines respond to being asked to get work done in Linux and all the (to them) unfamiliar applications that come along with it? What sort of approach works (clearly, sitting them down and saying "this is your computer, be productive or be fired" isn't going to work well)? -- Tim Wescott Wescott Design Services Voice: 503-631-7815 Cell: 503-349-8432 http://www.wescottdesign.com _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
