So what kind of firewalls are those M$ companies putting in?  Most of the time 
it's a Linux system pre-configured to act as a firewall.  The same is true for 
wifi routers, vpn servers, virtualization servers, vpn gateways, heck even some 
of the printers are actually Linux servers.

I've been in some shops that tell me they don't run Linux and nearly half of 
the rack mount equipment in their computer room runs Linux and they don't even 
realize it.

The way all that Linux equipment ends up there is because it solves the 
customer's problem and they don't have to be concerned about what OS the thing 
runs, just that it works for it's intended task.
