Are you saying Barry that the sexual exploitation of: men, women, and children to make money is acceptable? I for one run Dansguardian, but in realistic terms it makes more sense to have your Internet Service Provider do the filtering as any locally installed program is going to be easily bypassed. Getting addicted to XXX is not a good thing where any group that wants to limit access to this sort of material certainly has my support. Are you willing Barry to replace sex with Internet porn? Porn is a poor substitute for real sex between a life long committed man and a life long committed woman in private. How do you feel Barry about people who are supposed to abstain from sex when it comes to porn? That includes religious people and anyone who is single. I wonder what values you honestly have Barry if you think there is nothing negative about porn? Studies show that pornography negatively affects married couples too. XXX is just one thing I would welcome ISP level filtering for. Online gambling also bothers me, ebay being an exception. It should be obvious that material on the web that could fuel sexual harassment lawsuits and/or unduly impact productivity is going to raise legitimate concerns. Why aren't web sites rated the way movies are? Surely, ISPs can offer filtering based on third party ratings of web sites? One isn't talking about censorship if ISP level filtering is a voluntary low cost service and employers should have a right to impose certain browsing restrictions on employees. What right do you have Barry to impose your porn is a good thing attitude on everyone else? I find it sad that a woman points out a problem and no man yet has stood up to support her. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
