The great thing these days, is that most distros can either be run as a "Live CD" or boot of a thumb drive. So you can check out more distros in less time, with less hassle. BTW, I wasn't suggesting that you wanted a MS Win experience or that somehow that is a bad thing. We get used to things and then it's hard to change. I remember the days when I had to use Solaris every know and then at work. And I would curse at it all the time. Now I find myself cursing when Outlook hangs or when I have to reboot to install Win updates or use complex, bloated apps like MS Office.
