I'm using openDns and I must say that I'm fairly impressed with what I'm getting considering that I'm using the basic free service. Most of the sites I know about that I consider inappropriate are inaccessible with openDns. I'd guess that the service is at least 90% effective at categorizing web sites properly.
I think what is more interesting beyond the filtering power, something you may or may not need, is that the service apparently protects against phishing sites. My only complaint is that I should be able to tell my ISP to get the service for me and my ISP should make sure that I can only access the openDNS name servers. Thinks like Tor may make the utility of openDns questionable, but I guess that depends on your environment and your needs. Tor is limited. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
