hi Dan,

Thanks for your comments. i chose accordion menus because i think it's a
bit of a modern and sexy effect, and it lets all the questions show up
right at the top. i did code it the way you describe (questions at the
top with bookmarks to the corresponding answer section), but this only
shows up if you're in a basic browser (elinks) or if you have javascript
disabled in the browser (try disabling js in firefox, and you'll see
what i mean). <noscript> ftw!

re: legibility, these comments are extremely useful, please keep 'em
coming. i already heightened font contrast site-wide based on Rich's
comment, i think this may have led to the decrease in contrast for the
text on the faq menu as that text is on a different colored background.
i'll clean that up and increase contrast and font legibility for that
page specifically tonite.

regarding the accordion menu, if we'd rather have the old style, it's an
easy change to make. i'd also thought of maybe putting the FAQ section
into the wiki instead, but hadn't gotten around to it as i already had
the FAQ page finished. discussion around that idea is welcome, and seems
to make sense at first consideration.

thanks much for your feedback, together we'll make this site truly awesome.

regards,

nathan w

p.s. as a general update, i've set up the home-page to display an rss
page of recent activity in the wiki, and will be tweaking it some tonite
to show dates and what-not. this should improve visibility for the wiki,
and help indicate that the group is very much alive and active,
addressing the concern that static pages can be a bit ambiguous as to
how active a group like PLUG is.

once i've got that tweaked the way i like it, i'll port it to all
'static' pages.
