Well, this hasn't been a good afternoon for me. While struggling with a new
install of openSUSE 11.3, I found out that it couldn't work with audio CD's,
so I decided to try a trial copy of Ubuntu 10.4. This is on a 64 bit Athlon
3200+ system (ECS GF6100 M754 v1 mobo) and a GF8400RS PCIx video card to
support the new digital 1080p mode for the new large screen 16x9 monitors.

After installing Ubuntu, and having a dual boot grub so I can choose either
openSUSE or Ubuntu on boot, I cannot get the card to come up in digital mode
at all. The only output is VGA.

Do I assume correctly that something is wrong with the "nouveau" module?
This is the new kernel module that is supposed to drive the new digital
displays.

I really would like to get the digital mode working. Do I completely scrub
my 319 Gig hard drive and start over? I've already used up several days
here trying to get the new system working.

So any suggestions?

Randall
