Related question, how do you keep grub when there is a SATA drive from
not booting via the IDE drive? If I turn on my 2T external Sata drive
before booting off an internal IDE drive, the boot fails. Turn the SATA
drive on later though, no problem. In the bios I have said boot from
the IDE drive and grub comes up okay, but then it goes to the SATA drive
somehow (maybe how it orders the drives) and doesn't find the Linux
system. There has to be way to map the IDE drive as coming before any
SATA drive in grub.
