I was distro shopping in an effort to expand my knowledge of other versions of Linux. And having spent some time in other distros, the one that suits my needs best is Ubuntu. I would go back to it right now except that it would take at least four days to get all my apps reinstalled and configured and working properly. At the moment it appears that I am going to have to give up on OOo 3.2.1. The only benefit is being able to use OTF fonts. But it breaks Zotero, and I must have Zotero for citations and references in papers. Zotero is a Java plugin for Firefox and OOo. I absolutely hate Java apps. I have NEVER had a Java app that did not require hours of tweaking and futzing and googling to get it to work. Java must attract dilettante programmers who have no clue what they are doing. I also have no idea how to program, but I have the good sense not to try. And upgrading my Fedora 11 would install a newer version of Firefox, which would make matters even worse. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
