   Perhaps you're not seeing the message that firefox is already running. I
get that occasionally for reasons I don't understand. Regardless, the
solution is to run

        ps ax | grep firefox-bin

and see if there are firefox-bin processes listed. If all you see is the
grep process, then that's not the issue. If you see firefox-bin processes,
issue the command

        killall firefox-bin

and that should clear the way for a new instance to load and run.
