My perl is rpm installed, but it is custom compiled perl-5.12 and not recognized by cpan2rpm as fullfilling the perl requirement. Is there a trick to bypass this issue? I recompiled to use vim, vim now works like a charm. I'm trying to set up mailwatch as I want to do something intelligent with the flood of mailscanner reports I'm getting from quarantined messsages. These mail programs seem well done, but I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how to combine spamcannibal, mailscanner, mailfilter, postfix, etcetera. I haven't been able to make spamcannibal for example tarpit anything yet. Can I reprogram the rpm database to treat the perl requirement as satisfied? I apparently need to install the perl modules DBD and DBD_mysql for mailwatch to work. I could invoke cpan and try to do it that way, but I'd rather go the cpan2rpm route if at all possible.
