It's quite possible that your apps are calling one of these X libraries, which in turn is looking for the nVidia library, which isn't there anymore. The trick is to re-install the Fedora libraries. I don't remember which ones they are, but it's easy enough to simply re-install X. It'll take a little time, but it works, and you'll know that everything is up to date. Run the following commands as root and (assuming this is your problem) you should be okay: # yum reinstall xorg-x11-\* # setsebool -P allow_execstack 0 The first re-installs X11, and is the key. The second is for systems running SELinux, which includes Fedora. It closes a security hole that nVidia opens.
