I just discovered the coolest PDF tool: xournal. It's in the regular
Fedora repositories, so probably it is in the Ubuntu repositories as
well. If you can't find it in the repositories it is available at
xournal.sourceforge.net.

You can use xournal to markup any old PDF file. "Markup" includes
adding lines, shapes or text. The tools include Eraser (doesn't work
on text), Pen, Highlighter and Text. Text can be in any of several
colors and you can use any font installed on your computer. You can
place the markups anyplace on the document. When you finish making your
markups you can export as a new PDF, or you can print it out. Since you
can export as a new PDF you could just mark up a PDF and e-mail it
back to the people you got it from.

It is perfect for filling in the blanks on forms that you get as PDF
files, even if the PDF file was not created as an editable PDF form.

It was actually created originally as a note-taking application, but
the PDF editing features are what I will use it for.
