I'm not smart enough to run dirvish. Besides, rdiff-backup does much the same thing and is just as fast. The only reason it usually takes an hour is because I only run a backup when I have created work that is important to save. Sometimes weeks go by where I have no significant production. In fact, some might say I have never produced anything significant. I use a thumb drive as a temporary quick backup medium if I am working on something. When I finish the project I insert the Ultrabay drive and run rdiff-backup. I've been doing it this way for decades and I have never yet lost a file. Keith and I have an understanding: I think he is overly cautious and he thinks I am a fool. There may be some truth in both opinions. But for sure, neither of us is likely to change the other. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
