After trying Evolution with all my heart for a couple of months (on
Ubuntu 10.04 originally), i ditched it in favor of Thunderbird +
Lightning + the Google Calendar provider. Works like a charm, i depend
on it.

Evolution was too feature-weak to use as a primary mail client for
multiple accounts and different protocols.
