For those not in the know, I am a Linux USER, and that's all I want to be. I am running Ubuntu ( version 'something' later than 10.0x - I cannot find an 'ABOUT' or information tab to tell me what version this is. Yes, I looked.) I am running Gnome.
Anyways, as of a couple days ago, my browsers have gotten really slow, and they 'timeout' more and more, and pretthy much always for now. I can open a command line and ping places I want to view, and I get 50ms ~ 300ms depending on where. I am trying Firefox, epiphany, and I just tried adding SeaMonkey. Still timing out. Windows boxes on my network serve pages normally. Can I set the 'time' somewhere to like 5 minutes, so I acn request a page, do a hosework chore, and then return to the computer once the page finally loads. (Yes, I am patient enough to wait minutes for pages; but I *do* eventually want to SEE them...) Any other hints, perhaps? - GLL _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
