I just discovered that the LCD display on the UPS cycles through various displays which show the rest of the things I wanted to know. The first display just shows the line in voltage, the battery charge %, and the load as a graphic. I thought that that was all there was. But the following displays give me the load in watts (58) and the remaining time in minutes at the current load (86). The Gnome Power Manager is kind of minimal, but it does give me options for hibernate or shutdown when the UPS battery is critically low. It doesn't define "critically low," but I suppose I just need to let it run down once to test it. So it turns out I don't need the APCUPS utility after all. It would still be nice to figure out why it can't see the UPS when Gnome Power Manager sees it without any problem, but I no longer care very much. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
