somewhat belatedly I know...)

Actually Free Geek uses stress_test which is just a shell wrapper around
stress that specifies the length of time it runs and what is does.

Stress itself can run for arbitrary lengths of time and has lots of
tuneable parameters that effect how much you stress stuff, and what gets
stressed.
