without getting into details F6 will give you the command the smit
will run when you hit <enter> aka 'doit'
unfortunatly sometimes it is a ksh script. More details can be found
after you run the smitty command
in /smit.log and /smit.transaction (may be transactions.

90% of the systems config is kept in what is called the ODM database.
do a man page on odmget
or hit IBM's website.
