Silicon Mechanics resells Supermicro stuff; they'll pre-load Linux for you. (I *always* re-install a server OS, but I like pre-installed Linux because it means that someone is making sure that the hardware is compatible with a mainstream Linux distro.) An interesting thing with this vendor is that you have to buy a spares kit if you get on-site warranty coverage. It add some expense, but I like having the spare parts right in the office. Penguin sells nice gear; we have a lot of it at work. I don't like the lack of live configuration and pricing on the web site -- you have to request a quote -- but the gear is good. I've had good luck with HP gear, but it's typically a bit more expensive than the other vendors. -- Paul Heinlein <> [email protected] <> http://www.madboa.com/ _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
