Weird network thing. Both my laptop and my desktop machines are running Ubuntu 10.04. When I click on Places > Network on the desktop machine I see only an icon for Windows Network. When I click on Places > Network on the laptop I see an icon for Acer-Laptop (itself) and Windows Network. Neither machine sees the other machine.
Each machine can ping the other successfully. From the desktop machine I can drill down in the Windows Network and see Acer-Laptop. But double clicking on it gives me an empty list labeled "Windows shares on acer-laptop". Both machines can connect to my wife's machine through Windows Network. This happened to me the other day, but somehow fixed itself. Ideas? Clue stick? Two-by-four? -- Regards, Dick Steffens _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
