I wonder if Little Color Management System would be of any use here. I
have it installed, but I have never used it. It is FOSS and my
understanding is that manufacturers of many scanners, monitors and
printers have incorporated it into their devices. Desktop publishers
(excluding me) need to make sure the color they see on the monitor is
what will come out of the laser printer or printing press. LCMS is a
system to calibrate the various devices. I have no idea how it works.
