More on my video saga. I now have DVI to VGA adapters for my nVidia Quadro 285 video card. I have the "current version" nVidia driver installed. I have a ViewSonic BG2030wm monitor attached to the number 1 connector on the card's dongle, and a SamSun SyncMaster 712n attached to the number 2 connector.
Using the NVIDIA X Server Settings tool I can see that the driver sees both monitors and knows their model numbers and standard resolutions. But only the ViewSonic monitor has anything displayed on it. When first powered up the second display was disabled. I changed it to "Separate X screen" and restarted X. No change. I changed it to "TwinView" and restarted X. No change. Is there something else I should know about to get both screens working?
