Which shows Mac OS does not support, but Mac OSX does with "NTFS-3G" which 
happens to link to a page describing what it is:

Which works with the FUSE interface in OSX.

And NTFS-3G is a 2006 fork of the Linux-NTFS project.
And the Mac support was announced in late 2009.
