It might be okay but, in general, you will get a much better deal off eBay or even Craigslist than from a local storefront with its markup. As always, research extensively whatever machine you consider buying, including price comparisons. Yes, add in the shipping/insurance cost. I had too many Dell notebooks at E&Y, and those all eventually broke, but maybe I'm biased. However I'd suggest you buy a Thinkpad instead.
