A related question is system status email. My Linux systems generate a dozen emails per day with status. The "internal mails" I'm thinking about would be like that: "Here's today's scheduled clients" "Here's this morning's missed calls". It may be that the Mac can't use email to notify - you run a gui app (or Terminal and "less") to look at the logs. I may end up having to run dovecot on localhost and feed Mac Mail that way. At least I can feed postfix at the front end. I hope the folks with experience in both worlds can help here. As one helpful fellow suggested, "ask the PDX Perl folk", so I will try there.
