DVI - A: The cable only has pins and conductors for analog pixel data.
There is also the possibility of dual link - doubling up on the number of pins / conductors used to transmit video in digital mode. Dual link is provided for color depth >24 bits / pixel or clock rates >165 Mhz. Some of what I have read indicates that dual mode can support BOTH clock rates > 165 Mhz. and color depth > 24 bits / pixel - but I am suspicious.
