Running Ubuntu, the network-manager does not setup as a static ip addresss well. I have installed wicd and have no problems with it. Everything looks good when I fill in all the blanks. The computer hooks up to my network, but can't ping or access anything. I am not sure if this falls under the Xubuntu problem, but thought I would mention it just in case.
