I don't know why I can't find this. I'm probably searching on the wrong key words.
I want a tiny, simple GUI utility that will pop up a bubble on my Xfce screen an hour before a doctor's appointment. I can do this with my Android phone, but I don't sit in front of my phone all day. The key word in the above is "simple." Cron is a thousand times more program than I need or care to take the time to learn. I just want something simple that will remind me of appointments. I tried remind, calendar, and Xfce panel timer, but none will pop up a reminder before a set time. The Datetime Xfce panel widget does not have the functionality either.
