I run Slackware. > You can also use GUIs like wicd to switch between DHCP network profiles > and static network profiles. 'wicd-client -n' is used when connecting wirelessly with the wlan0 interface. Locally, plugging in the ethernet cable before booting the system brings up eth0 automatically. Restoring the local /etc/resolv.conf from within ~/.bash_logout when logging out from an external wireless session requires no user knowledge and does not compromise security of that portable (or the LAN) in any way. Simple is much better. Rich _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
