There might be commuting issues tomorrow as the mini-marathon closes a number of streets (including Hawthorne and NE 10th Ave) until almost 1:00 pm.
Regardless, I want to affirm that I'm bringing the Sony Vaio running Slackware-13.37 to the clinic because I need expert help in resolving the networking issues. Wireless has never worked properly (because eth0 is not taken down when wlan0 is up and running), and this past week eth0 stopped working. I have installed Network Manager (and activated rc.networkmanager during booting) and de-activated rc.wicd and rc.wireless. Apparently, NM also requires the network-manager-applet and I'll have all the prerequisites installed for that today.
