Does anyone know how to fix the problem of ntp erasing the old
loops.year-month-day files? I am trying to save a whole year of loops
data in the /var/log/ntpstats folder area, but for some odd reason,
some process is erasing these files and only keeping the latest 7 or
so.

I can create a cron job, run daily, which will archive, but I reallly
would like to turn off whatever is doing this erasing.

Any ideas? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on a 64 bit Intel Corei7 990x platform.
