Just as a counter-example to the "will take anything" assertion...

FreeGeek declined when I asked about their willingness to recycle the
SkyPilots we got from the defunct MetroFi network. The ones we have
recycled have been dismantled by PTP volunteers. The upside is we've
made several hundred dollars on aluminum scrap. We've also recovered
and reused various components. I'm told (by a guy at FarWestFiber)
that the circuit boards are worth ~$1/lb, primarily for the rare-earth
elements in the capacitors. The polycarbonate GE Lexan is not worth
money as scrap, but FarWest was taking it until recently in their
rigid plastics bin.

That said, I think you are pretty safe with FreeGeek for the burnt
servers.
