This should not be a problem at all. I have dual booted both win 8 and win
7 with linux. The question is whether you want to do it with Secure EFI,
EFI, or BIOS only modes. I am double full your Win 7 box shipped with
secure EFI but you may have to figure out exactly what state the firmware
is in and which partition type you need to support it.

I am a fan of vanilla EFI. However there are a lot of things that get done
to mess up the EFI to work with win systems.

The crazy partition setup that has a gpt and a protective messed up MBR
partition that is used is a real mess. So for Win 8 I went back to BIOS
only mode. Win 8 is happy to install on a MBR partition on a BIOS only
mode device.

You just need to be clear at the end state you are shooting for. And the
current state of your windows partitions and disk partition label.

Most configs are possible if you are starting from scratch. Getting there
from one or the other can be problematic.

For example if you take win 8 secure laptop and reinstall linux on it you
may get a non working partition table. Because of the protective MBR GPT
stuff I mentioned above. I spend way too much time dealing with a partial
install before I went back to BIOS only mode.
