Dick If worst comes to worst, su (or sudo) to root and use find / -name google-earth (or GoogleEarth for earlier versions) and manually remove all files, then re-install version 7. My copy of 6.x suddenly failed and when I upgraded to 7.x it does not display the graphic backgrounds. Haven't figured that one out yet. PITA, eh? Rich -- Richard B.
