Even though I don't have any program guide info today I can still watch
and record with MythTV. Around 4:15 I recorded a part of a '60s western
on one of the non-HD channels. Later on I played it back. Nice and
clear. Around 5:00 I decided to see if the Ohio State/Northwestern game
would come in choppy on the HD channel. Nice and clear. Later on I'll
try recording a segment of it and see how it looks played back. What I'm
wondering is if I'm getting a clearer signal today than I got a couple
of weeks ago. It's a nice clear day (weather-wise) today. I don't recall
what the weather was like when I tried looking at an HD channel before.

More experimenting.

Interesting side note:

I have cable going to the TV in the living room, and I'm getting the
non-HD version of channel 2. I tuned the game on that TV and also on the
Myth box. There is a delay of several seconds (5? 10?) between the two.
Strange.
