Daniel,

   I didn't look at LO until last evening or this morning.

   'netstat -tl' tells me it's still using TCP:

tcp        0      0 *:ipp                   *:*                     LISTEN

and the only non-commented line in /etc/cups/client.conf shows:

ServerName 192.168.55.1

I don't see where a unix socket could be specified for use.
