What are you planning on synchronizing? Android is Linux-based, but that
has no effect on synchronization. Ideally for Android phones and tablets,
you are part of the Google ecosystem and everything (email, contacts,
photos, calendars, etc) are synced through that. If you aren't, then your
primary fallback would be some sort of Exchange setup, given that this is
the PLUG mailing list, I'll assume you aren't running an Exchange server.
Finally, you can always try an ad hoc solution, which is part of how I keep
my devices sane, but I still depend a bit too heavily on Google's
infrastructure for it all.
