I had indications that the CMOS battery needed replacing. In preparation for that I vacuumed some dust off the heat sink, the case fan, and some random parts of the MB. I tried to remove the battery, but was unsuccessful. Before putting much effort into the battery removal I was called away to dinner. After dinner I tried to start the computer, but got only a momentary spinning of the fans. I have since tried wiggling a few of the connectors with no change in behaviour. What might I try? What is the chance that the vacuuming zapped the MB?
