Not sure about the S5, but my Nexus4 appears only as a "media device" when i connect it via usb, and i can't manipulate files (my old Nexus 1 dutifully shows up as storage on every OS i've connected it to, not sure why this capability is missing from an otherwise very capable phone).
The "AirDroid" app from the Play Store provides a really nice UI for browsing/uploading/downloading to/from the phone's filesystem, and you can easily limit access to the phone from a local network only. ________________________________________ Joe Shisei Niski Portland, Oregon, USA 至誠 On Tue, Aug 19, 2014 at 8:04 AM, Chuck Hast <[email protected]> wrote: > Folks, > When i plug the phone into the machine via USB, I can see the directory > structure, but all of the directories are empty.
