I can't seem to get a 64-bit Utopic installation working on my HP XW4400 (which has Windows 8 installed). The Ubuntu installation completes, but the bootup gets stuck with the above message, so that /dev never gets populated. (A VMWare installation on the same computer works fine.) The display adapter is a Geforce GT 610, and it is possible that there is something about its driver that is causing a problem. In any case, any advice about the probable cause or solution to this problem would be appreciated.
