John, No. But, I have a brand-new, unused Seagate 1.0T/USB 3.0 drive. The intended use never materialized so it's sitting here. Don't know about external/USB drives from Western Digital, but I've found their internal SATA drives to be outstanding. Had only 1 fail during warranty and they immediately replaced it. Since I needed a replacement sooner, I bought and installed a new 500G drive so the replacement is sitting her in the shipping container. ENU on SE 122nd Ave. has always done well by me for components. Take a look at their web site <http://www.enuinc.com/> and see what they have. If there's a brand/model that is less reliable the folks there will tell you. If they recommend one, go with it.
