I recently bought a Dell PD02S with a DVD-CD drive insert at a surplus store for Real Cheap. I don't know yet if it works. The outer connector cable is "esatap", external SATA with 5V power. The connector on the slide-out drive may be "slimline SATA".
Does anyone have a card or cable that can talk to either one, or experience with such? I do not have the cables or cards, though I do have a standard ESATA PCIe card for motherboards and a Cardbus ESATA card. I will bring the kit that I have to the Clinic Sunday, if anyone wants to play with it. I will be busy rebuilding laptops and playing with the Zotac.
